New for Bibble 4.4
Fill Light

Since the the introduction of our novel Highlight Recovery feature, we've received many requests for a similar tool that would help restore shadow detail.

Using a single slider, it is now possible to brighten the darkest portions of your images, while leaving the overall balance of the image the same. Like the HR tool, the fill light tool only modifies a portion of image's histogram making it easy to quickly get the results you desire without worrying about blowing out the rest of the image.

Sharper Ouput

Today's newer cameras are featuring strong Anti-Aliasing filters which result in images with fewer image artifacts. With this in mind, we've provided a new option to disable Bibble's built in artifact reduction. This is now the default and will result in sharper images with less color moire when compared to previous versions of Bibble. Older images might exhibit slightly more noise and/or an occasional artifact. Should this occur, enable the artifact reduction routines from the sharpen/noise palette.

GPS Info

Bibble now displays and exports GPS info embedded in raw files.

Tethering Updates

Bibble 4.4 includes the latest SDK drivers from canon which allows tethered shooting with the new 5D and 1D2N. We have also reenabled tethering for canon shooters on the macintosh.

Features from Bibble 4.3
Straightening Tool:

Since Bibble was released last year, one of the most frequently requested features has been "Arbitrary rotation". After carefully analyzing how folks would use such a feature, we came up with a tool that is simple to use, integrated with the rest of the workflow and easily produces images that are "True". By using this new tool you can quickly make corrections to account for poorly aligned cameras or subjects. As with all image settings in Bibble, once you have your image in alignment, you can easily Copy/Paste the settings other images shot under similar circumstances and they will all automatically be corrected on output.

Plug-in Interface

Bibble now has a plug-in interface to allow third parties to add image processing functionality. Utilizing this interface makes it possible to either add new routines for processing images or replace Bibble's own internal methods. Plug-in authors can utilize Bibble's existing tool and option system to make sure that their options get saved along with all the rest in your .bib files.

BPTLens Plug-in.

To show off the new plug-in system, we have separately released a plug-in to remove lens distortion from your images. See the BPTLens Page for more info.

Faster Raw Processing (Windows)

Previous versions of Bibble were always the fastest way to process raw images. With Bibble 4.3, we've optimized things even more. Raw Images should now process ~33% faster then before, further widening the gap between us and the other guys.

Highlight recovery

Additional controls added to the highlight recovery suite make it possible to disable it for images on which it performs badly. The new controls also allow you to tweak the constants used to better match your camera and shooting conditions to yield better results and remove the occasional "pink highlight"
